This is my mock up for my cover page design. i was influenced by I-D magazine to place my magazine title in the top left hand corner of the page on its side going down the page, i find this really effective and unique. As i have chosen my magazine style to be simplistic i kept my cover page simply, with a masthead, main image filling the whole page and a cover line.
This is my mock up of my contents page. i was influenced by the contents pages i research, i haven't placed the word contents page on here because i want it to look simplistic and unique. the layout is pretty basic, iv only used one image which i was debating weather to place filling the whole page half of the page or just in the right hand side at the top of the page. i found this look really effective, with more information on the contents page about the pages in my magazine.
This is a mock up of my double page spread, again iv kept it simply. Iv used just the one image filling the whole left and side page and using little quotes on both pages to attract the readers to read the full article. while i have placed the title of the interview at the top of the right hand side page and my magazine title small in the right hand corner which will be on ever page of the magazine as well as the page number too.
I think the name ALT is a very good way to present the genre 'Alternative' to your audience, using the first three letters makes it easy to remember and would defiantly stand out well on some of the fonts you are possibly going to use for the mast head such as: American Captain and Bebas. I think your front cover mock up is a good idea as it represents your genre of music and target audience which is Indie/Alternative, i see this because its very simple and basic with minimum text but a potential of a large center image. I am looking forward to seeing your final magazine cover.
